Objective The objective of the scheme is to inspire the students in social works and impart technical instruction in this respect.
Enrolment of Volunteers Enrolment to this Unit is voluntary but attendance in the activities and any type of social service is always preferable.

NSS Activities:

The NSS organizes every year:

  • Blood donation and other medical camps,
  • Plantation programme,
  • Independence day celebration,
  • Republic day celebration etc.

  • In 2008, NSS unit members visited the slum areas of the locality and taught the children of the slums about hygiene and cleanliness.
  • On 22. 12. 2014, the NSS unit arranged a health check-up camp in the slums.
NSS Achievements:

  • In August 2016, a seminar on “Save the Girl Child” was organised by NSS in collaboration with ASHA NGO.
  • In September 2016, NSS organised an “Eye-Check-up” camp in the college premises for the students.
  • In September 2013, NSS organised a One-day Health Camp for Women’s Problems.
  • Arpita Biswas and Soma Ghosh participated in National NSS Camp at Simla in 2013
  • NSS Volunteers of the college have received award for their performance in Vivek Smriti Utsab 2016 organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Golpark in collaboration with Jadavpur University NSS Unit.
